Frequently asked
Do you charge per user? No. With Private you pay for your server, not for people — how many you put on it is up to you (a typical team of 10–20 runs comfortably; if you outgrow it, the answer is a bigger machine, not a per-head fee). Cloud Lite is deliberately for two people, because it is the cheapest self-serve tier on a shared machine.
Is the free version cut down? No. You get the whole of killBottleneck, including team collaboration and the AI features. You can even power the AI yourself, for free, with your own model in Ollama. Our paid AI and hosting are offered only as a convenience for those who have nowhere to run them.
Why does Cloud Lite not take file uploads? Attachments are there, just as links — to Drive, Dropbox, SharePoint or anywhere else. The task shows the name and the address and opens it in one click. Other people's files mean space in every backup and responsibility for whatever gets uploaded. Private does take uploads with a 5 GB limit; self-hosted has no limit at all.
Where do the servers run? In Germany. To be straight about it: the payment gateway and the site protection layer are third-party services — it is written down in the privacy policy (Czech).
Can I get my data out if I leave? Yes. Maps export, and when you self-host, the data is simply a file on your disk. After a paid plan ends we also keep your data for another 90 days in case you come back.
