Glossary
Short definitions of the words the app uses. Where a term also exists in Czech it is in brackets, so you don't get lost in the Czech interface or on the Czech site.
The map and goals
| Term | What it is |
|---|---|
| Project (projekt) | One map with everything that belongs to it. Project and map are the same thing; we say “project” on the home page and “map” on the canvas. |
| Apex, main goal (vrchol, hlavní cíl) | The circle on top of the map — what the project exists for. It cannot be deleted, only renamed. |
| Goal (cíl) | One step in the map. Technically a node (uzel) — you meet that word in the API and MCP, not in the app. |
| Subgoal (podcíl) | A goal hanging under another goal. Parents compute their progress from subgoals. |
| Pillar (pilíř) | A first-level goal directly under the apex; the dashboard shows progress per pillar. |
| Status (stav) | To do → In progress → Done (Založeno → Probíhá → Hotovo). |
| Task (úkol) | A goal that has an assignee or a deadline. Not a special kind of record — just a role of a goal. You see tasks in My day and on the Tasks page. |
| Assignee (řešitel) | Who is responsible for the goal and gets the notifications. In the dialog Assignee, in texts sometimes responsible person. Always a human, even when an automation performs the step. |
| Assigner (zadavatel) | Who assigned the task (set the assignee or the deadline). The only one who may change the deadline; others propose. |
| Deadline, due date (termín) | The agreement when it must be done. The whole team sees it; past it, it turns red. |
| Plan (plán) | Your own “when I want to work on it” (today / tomorrow / next week). It never changes the deadline; only you see it. |
| Focus ★, most important task of the day (fokus, denní fokus) | One task for today and one for tomorrow, marked with the star. It expires with the day. |
| Wait for children (čekat na podřízené) | A switch: the goal waits (⏳) until every goal under it is done. The step it waits for carries the ! blocks tag. |
| Bottleneck (úzké hrdlo) | An unfinished goal that is overdue, or has not moved for 14 days, and holds further unfinished steps. Potential bottleneck: holds ≥ 2 steps. |
| Recurrence (opakování) | After completion the goal returns to To do by itself with the deadline advanced by a day, a week or a month. |
| Sticky note (lístek, poznámka) | Free text on the canvas outside the goal tree; it comes from an import or from the assistant. |
| Kanban | A map whose columns are goals in one row and whose cards are moved between them by rules. |
My work
| Term | What it is |
|---|---|
| My day (Můj den) | The panel on top of Projects and Tasks: overdue, today, tomorrow, within a week, blocking others, delegated… On the phone the Today screen. |
| My map (Moje mapa) | A read-only personal map: you in the middle, your goals from every project; the To do and Delegated tabs. |
| Idea stash, idea inbox (zásobník nápadů) | A personal list of ideas outside projects; an idea is dragged into a map or inserted into a project. |
| Simplified view, lite (zjednodušené zobrazení) | The phone version at /lite: Today, Assigned, Calendar, Inbox. Not “light”. |
| Event (událost) | Something with a time outside projects (a meeting, the dentist) in the Calendar. No assignee, no status. |
| Shared calendar (sdílený kalendář) | A calendar that is not a person: company events, a room or resource, time off. |
| Time off (nepřítomnost) | Vacation, a sick day, home office recorded all-day; optionally approved. |
| Reminder (připomínka) | A nudge at a specific time — for an event (invitees too) or for a deadline (you only). |
| Time tracking, timer (měření času, stopky) | From–to entries on a goal, project or client; private. |
| Client (klient) | A register in Worked time; a project can be assigned to a client, and time adds up per client too. |
Team and organization
| Term | What it is |
|---|---|
| Instance | One installed app = one organization (your own server, or yourcompany.killbottleneck.com). |
| Organization (organizace) | Everyone on the instance — and the Organization page, the overview across projects for admins and managers. |
| Role | Administrator · Manager (invites new people as members) · Member. The first account is the administrator. |
| AI manager (správce AI) | A flag independent of the role: receives automation requests, keeps the agent registry. |
| Structure manager (správce struktury) | A flag: draws the org structure, appoints people to positions, sets deputies. |
| Org structure (organizační struktura) | The tree of positions and functions with holders and deputies; a map and a table in Organization settings. |
| Deputy (zástupce) | Who covers for a person — a position deputy, or a personal deputy. Rules resolve them at run time. |
| Sharing: View · Collaborate · Edit (Číst · Spolupracovat · Upravovat) | Three access levels to a map; Whole organization = team access; Public link = read-only for anyone with the address. |
| Owner (vlastník) | Who created the project; the only one who turns on team access and the public link, archives and deletes. |
| External contact (externí kontakt) | A person outside the instance (an accountant, a supplier) you can assign work to; nothing is ever sent to them. |
| Archive (archiv) | Finished projects set aside; nothing is deleted, a project can be restored. |
| Project number (číslo projektu) | Every project's sequential number (#12) — on the dashboard, in the archive, for the assistant. |
| Template (šablona) | A saved map for creating projects again; a numbered series and automatic creation. |
Automation and AI
| Term | What it is |
|---|---|
| Rule (pravidlo) | WHEN something happens in the map → IF the conditions hold → DO the actions. Runs are never counted or billed. |
| Trigger, condition, action (spouštěč, podmínka, akce) | The three blocks of a rule. |
| Dynamic target (dynamický cíl) | A role instead of a name: deputy of the responsible person, position holder, position deputy. |
| Automation, agent (automatizace, agent) | An external service (n8n, cron…) that performs a map step through a webhook; kept in the AI agent registry. |
| Who performs this (kdo to vykoná) | Person or Automation; the assignee stays human. |
| AI assistant (AI asistent) | The side panel: a conversation over your maps, briefings, documents, invoices. |
| Turn (tah) | The unit of assistant usage: 1 turn ≈ one ordinary message. The quota is weekly; older app texts say “credit”. |
| AI credits (AI kredity) | The Organization settings section with usage in turns and the weekly quota. |
| Help (nápověda) | The assistant answers “where is…” questions from this documentation without changing anything. |
| MCP server | The built-in interface for AI agents (Claude, Cursor, Codex) — through an API key or OAuth. |
| API key (API klíč) | A key for the REST API and MCP; it acts as its owner, Read only or Read and write. |
Operations
| Term | What it is |
|---|---|
| Self-hosted, your own server (vlastní server) | An instance you run yourself (Docker). |
| KB Cloud | The hosted Lite, Pro and AI Agent plans at yourcompany.killbottleneck.com. |
| Trial (zkušebka) | 30 days of a full cloud instance with no card; read-only after it ends. |
| Skin | The app's look (colors, fonts, radius), saved to the account; Midnight by default. |
| Light / dark mode (světlý / tmavý režim) | A per-device switch; a skin applies in both. |
| Notification (notifikace) | A message in the bell, optionally by e-mail (immediately, a daily digest, or nothing). |
| fair-code | The license: download, run, modify, use commercially; you may not resell it as a hosted service. |
