The trial and what comes after

The cloud trial is the full product on your own address (yourcompany.killbottleneck.com) for 30 days, no payment card. This page answers the questions people actually ask during those 30 days.

Where do I log in to my instance?

There is no shared login — every customer has their own address at yourcompany.killbottleneck.com and their data lives only in their own instance. You log in directly at your own address.

  • The exact address is in the welcome e-mail you received when your instance was created. Note: if a similar company name already existed when you signed up, your address got a short suffix (like yourcompany-a1b2) — so the e-mail beats guessing.
  • Don't remember the address? Use the Log in page on this site: enter your company name and it takes you to your instance. If the address doesn't exist, it tells you right away.
  • Bookmark your address — next time you can skip the redirect page entirely.
  • Still stuck? Write to support@killbottleneck.com.

What the trial does and doesn't limit

The trial doesn't limit people — invite your whole team. What is metered is the AI quota, same as on paid plans. All features are the real ones: maps, tasks, sharing, automations, exports.

The countdown bar

For the last 7 days of the trial the app shows a yellow bar with the remaining days:

Only the last week is announced — no nagging on day one.

When the trial expires, the bar turns red — "The trial has ended — your data is safe, writing is paused" with a Pick a plan button — and the instance becomes read-only: you can still browse, export and sign in; nothing is written until you pick a plan. Paying resumes the same instance — you don't start over.

The end of the trial — the data stays; only a plan choice is pending.

On the Cloud Lite plan the instance deliberately doesn't store uploaded files — an attachment is a link to where the file already lives (Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint, …). The team always opens the current version of the document, and your files stay under your own accounts. Larger plans include file storage, and self-hosted instances store files on your own disk.

Attachments in a goal's detail: the link opens the live document. Comments live right below.

Moving on — or moving out

  • Pick a plan: the pricing page has the current plans; paying upgrades your trial instance in place.
  • Take your data: any map exports to JSON (with or without names) at any time — see Export and import.
  • Move to your own server: killBottleneck is fair-code — you can self-host it for free and import your exported maps there.

fair-code — self-hosting and internal use are free, reselling as a hosted service is not.
